Brief History about the Faculty

 

1-    In 1911, the Faculty started as agricultural secondary school in Moshtohor.

2-    Between 1942 and 1945 it was affiliated to the Cairo University as a branch for 1st and 2nd year students.

3-    1n 1946, it turned again to the status of a Secondary School of Agriculture.(Five Years System)

4-    In 1957, it was changed to a High Institute of Agriculture (affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education there were two divisions; General Agriculture and Agricultural Extension. Students in the 2nd year were spending a practical training in the Federal Republic of Germany.  

5-    In1975, the High Institute of Agriculture was affiliated from Cairo University to Helwan University as a Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

6-    In 25\11\1976, the prime minister issued a decree No.143 for 1976 to affiliate the Faculty to Zagazig University, Benha Branch.

7-    In 2005, republican decree was issued to declare independence of Benha University in 1\8\2005.

8-    Number of students was increased from 100 students in 1957 to 2378 students in 2015\2016, 600 students at Post graduate, 78 Emeritus Professors, 49 Professors, 24 Assistant Professors, 49 Lecturers, 38 Assistant Lecturers and 42 Demonstrators.
